Kelly was one of my closest friends since we met in our Freshman high school history class in 1966. We always enjoyed each others company, and kept in touch regularly up until her passing on March 9, 2022. We both grew up in Marin County, as well as worked there. We always enjoyed going to our many high school reunions together, and spent time going on regular long walks in the hills around Phoenix Lake and other spots in Marin. When my husband and I moved up to Oregon in 2017, Kelly and I chatted regularly and saw each other a couple of times on trips to Marin. When Covid came along, Kelly's breast cancer had returned after many years. She and I would talk after her treatments and she was always so positive that she would once again, go into remission. She fought her battle to the bitter end...we talked on the phone a week or so before she passed away in her Greenbrae apartment on March 9, 2022 surrounded by friends and family. We shared our tears, laughter, and she joked that she wasn't going anywhere, "as she still had plans to parachute out of an airplane!" I was invited to tag along, but I reminded her, "why would we jump out of a perfectly good airplane!?"

I miss Kelly everyday, and when I think about her, I smile and feel her warmth and kindness. She was an amazing friend, and we shared a lot of wonderful memories and life experiences throughout our 56 years. I was so lucky to have been her friend!
