| About Me | Decrevi John D. Nugent is a playwright, a working comedy writer and a professional composer living in the Los Angeles area. He was born and raised in southwestern West Virginia. John has published several "Classical" religious pieces, despite his cynical outlook on religion in all modern forms. With libretti by the playwright Charles Deemer ("Christmas at the Juniper Tavern," "Famillily"), John has composed three operas, "Dark Mission" (published in 2004), "Varmints" and "Three by Maupassant" (an evening of three chamber operas). He is the librettist/composer of two musicals, "Nebuchadnezzar" and "The Casanova of Canal Street" (The latter on a scenario by himself and Tiffany Grant). In collaboration with Michael Ricciardi ("Skylark," "The Oscar Meyer Jingle"), John has co-written book, music and lyrics to thirty-nine pieces for the Musical Theatre. He is the co-creator of many sitcom Pilots currently making their way around the Networks. John is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
