Ray passed away on the morning of April 22, 2005 due to an accident on the NJ Turnpike. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lynda (Clendenin) Johnson, his son Evan Johnson, Sr. (Cheryl), and his two grandsons, Evan, Jr. and Gabe.
