Richard Huddle '71 said:

Mrs. Cornell was my junior English teacher in 1969-1970 school year. She was a tremendous teacher. She made us realize that our written word represents us in our absence. And she worked hard to get us to think. There is hardly a day goes by in my professional life that I don't think of Mrs. Cornell and my other English instructors from Sherman. She touched countless lives.
