My senior year, I went out for baseball. I was a center fielder, but the guy in front of me was all state his junior year so I didn't play much. Well, I did get in the first t 2 games against Ardmore I think, and drove in the winning run in both games of a doubleheader. In the last inning of the second game, a player hit a long ball to me in center. I went back, tripped, and fell down. However, I still caught the ball preserving the victory. I was popular in school for a couple of weks and got to go to Optimist Club, Rotary Club, and a few others for a free meeting and lunch. My pictue was in the paper and on the bulletin board. I guess about the best time of my life.
