Cindy and I became neighbors in 1955 when we were 9. She was every bit a girl, but with 2 brothers, she could fit right in with the boys. Baseball, football, she was a very good, self-taught, ice-skater. With cars, boyfriends & girlfriends, we didn't see as much of each other, but I would stop in from time to time, and we would sit at the kitchen table and get caught up. I never knocked. I just open the door and walk in. One day she was cooking something on the stove, her right foot resting on her left knee, (she often stood like that) in her underwear. She moved away, and I got drafted. We were both home back for a visit around 1975. Nothing till I got in contact with her through classmates in 2005. Funny that I made a living as a printer and she and her husband built up a successful printing company. We would email occasionally but then I wasn't getting any response. Contact was through the company email so my thinking we she had retired. Attempting to find a home address led me to her obit. We are all at the age where we are losing friends, but her passing has really affected me. Here is a picture from days gone by. She wasn't that glad to see that I still had it, but I'm so glad I do.
