About Me Taught junior high art in Kenosha, 3 years; taught at University of South Dakota 1975-80; taught at Arizona State University 1980-present; I teach book arts, printmaking, and papermaking and direct the Pyracantha Press, the book arts imprint of ASU. My own Cabbagehead Press was founded in 1972. My prints, books, and collaborative artworks, many on handmade paper, have been shown and collected in Africa, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, England, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Macedonia, the Netherlands, South America, and widely in the United States. Publications referencing my artwork in paper include The Complete Printmaker, Innovative Printmaking, Papermaking for Printmakers, Creating Artist’s Books, and No Longer Innocent, as well as professional journals like Hand Papermaking and Contemporary Impressions. I am president of the newly-formed College Book Art Association and chair of the Board of Directors of Hand Papermaking magazine. Collections holding my artwork include the Library of Congress; American Museum of Papermaking; Minneapolis Institute of Art; New York Public Library; Los Angeles Public Library; Newberry Library in Chicago; the Getty Center in Santa Monica; Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC; The Bodleian Library in Oxford, England; The British Library, London; Royal Library in the Hague, Netherlands; Klingspor-Museum der Stadt Offenbach, Offenbach am Main, Germany; Artpool, Budapest, Hungary; Fudan University in Shanghai; Southwestern Jiaotong University, Chengdu; the Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry in Miami Beach; numerous university libraries; and the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
