| About | Prudy Boan was my sorority sister (Phi Mu) at Baker University the year 1966-1967. She was a wonderful sister and athlete. I was sorry to read of her passing on this site. She must have been an excellent coach for Shawnee Mission West! |

I was so lucky to have known Prudy. Prudy was an excellent person and loved by not only her students/facultyat Shawnee Mission West but by all of her Phi Mu Sorority sisters from Baker University, Baldwin Kansas.
She was a leader and someone all of us looked up to in the late 60's. I am so glad she was a part of my life and a sorority sister.

Prudy Boan was not a West graduate as she graduated from SM North. However, she did teach Physical Education and Health plus coached volleyball, basketball and softball from 1976-2005 when she retired. She passed away in June of 2007 from complications due to Multiple Sclerosis. Prudy was very well respected by all and was a mentor to so many. Not only was she a terrific athlete before MS struck, she was a very successful coach in all three sports she coached at West. I was fortunate enough to have played volleyball for Prudy and witnessed her greatness in the program for years after that. Her motto was, tough times never last, but tough people do". Prudy definitely left her mark at SM West!!!
