Although Joe was a few years older than me, one day, I had the bright idea to hitchhike home from Clarkson University in October (my first of three times in my life) and I got a ride from Potsdam to Tupper Lake. It was getting late in the afternoon and this pickup truck pulls over with no canopy. Why it's Joe Spiak and 2 other guys. He was a senior when I was a sophomore. I recognized him from Shaker and I said that I was Dan Slichko's brother. We struck up a short conversation and Joe said, "If you don't mind riding in the bed, I can take you all of the way home." And that was my ride for the next 120 miles! Hahaha! Thanks Joe! That was awesome of you.
