About | Obituary for Robert Alan Beard – December 27, 1953 – August 23, 2022 Robert’s story cannot be justly summed up in a simple obituary. There are a few details about his life that his family wants to share. Robert grew up in Homewood and graduated from Shades Valley High School, the youngest of four children. In 1972, Rob was introduced to a young lady from Mulga, AL. A year later, Diane Mobley said yes to a lifetime of jokes, tricks, hard times, and love beyond all measure. Rob and Diane brought two wonderfully beautiful daughters, Jaime and Jennifer, into the world. As a young family, they were active members of the Forestdale Community and Westwood Baptist Church. Rob worked hard all his life. He was just and treated everyone with respect. He loved God and his girls. The standards for living were high and he made sure his children learned to live the same. He loved to joke, prank, and cut up. At any moment you could find yourself a victim of a mostly harmless prank. Rob loved Alabama Football. There wasn’t a day that he didn’t wear something representing The Tide. Rob was a loved man and his legacy will live on. Robert was preceded in death by James and Virginia Beard (Parents) and Linda Adams (Sister). Robert was survived by his wife, Diane Beard; two daughters, Jaime DeArman, and Jennifer Bishop (Ryan); two grandchildren, Collin Beasley and Piper DeArman; sister, Janice Nesmith; brother, James (Jimmy) Beard; and a host of nieces and nephews. A brief memorial service will be held at Westwood Baptist Church Chapel on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 10:00 am. The family requests no flowers be sent to the memorial. Instead, the family would appreciate a card with any special memories. Guests attending the memorial are invited to wear Alabama attire (or their favorite team colors) to honor Robert’s love of Alabama football. |
