Cathy G. Weathers, age 63, of Calera, passed away at home with her family and friends by her side, Monday, March 20. She was a property manager with Southeastern Property Management, and she loved her co-workers. Most of all Cathy loved her grandchildren. Sign up for The Shelby County Reporter's free newsletter She was predeceased by her parents, William and Betty Gamel, and her father and mother-in-law, Emory and Louise Weathers. Her survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, Wayne Weathers; sons, Bruce Weathers (Kim), Brad Weathers and Cory Weathers (Chelsea); sister, Lois Davis (Ken); and grandchildren, Callie Mae Weathers, Jordan Hylan Weathers and Garrett William Weathers. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 22 at Charter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 23 at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby. Pastor A. J. Smith will officiate the services. The family want to extend heart felt appreciation to Optum Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations are made in Cathy’s name to the American Cancer Society. Charter Funeral Home is directing.
