| About Me | At Penn State I worked at WDFM-FM as an announcer for two years. Two days after graduating in '59 I began an 8 year stay at the WFBG Stations, Altoona, PA, where I began as an assistant copywriter, managed broadcast traffic dept., and finished as Promotion Manager for WFBG-AM-FM-TV. The parent company, Triangle Publications, transferred me to WFIL-TV, Channel 6, Philadelphia, where i headed up the traffic department until the stations were sold. In 1972 I began 18 years at Kennametal Inc, Latrobe, PA, writing advertising and newsletters, managing bulk mail operations and working in the 24 hour-365 day a year mainframe computer center. I ended my work career at Mercury Printing in Pittsburgh, PA, retiring in 2001, Since then I mostly read (I was an English Lit. major) and travel, visiting my 4 daughters and their families in VA , DC, and upstate NY or sightseeing with our local AARP club.
