| About Me | Steve (Jolly) Stephens Biography: Steve has been doing part-time auto dealer census consulting, consumer research assignments & human resources consulting after semi-retiring in 2008 from Volkswagen/Audi of America, Inc. He has extensive Human Resources Leadership and training/facilitation experience. His most recent Michigan-Detroit area Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA) role was Human Resources Consultant providing Human Resources Generalist services for the VW Credit, Inc, Headquarters employees supporting Human Resources practices that helped achieve many Employer of Choice Best Companies Awards recognition for VWoA and VW Credit, Inc. Prior to this role, he held positions as Human Resources Director for VW Credit, Inc., Benefits Planning Manager, and Staffing & Personnel Development General Manager. Before joining VWoA, he held positions as Manager Corporate Staffing with American Motors Corporation and College Recruiting Specialist & Senior Personnel Administrator for Unisys Corporation. Steve has a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from North Dakota State University. He funded his university education with an athletic scholarship as a starting player with the North Dakota State University NCAA Division II National Championship football team and a NCAA Post Graduate Student/Athlete Scholarship funded his Master’s Degree. His retirement hobbies include running & now power walking having completed since 2008, multiple marathons & half-marathon distance runs; hiking/climbing Africa’s Mt. Kilamanjaro, highest world’s free-standing mountain & Mt. Whitney, highest continental US Mountain; and Senior Olympic Medals in varied events. He also enjoys volunteering and international traveling. He lives with his wife in the Detroit, Michigan area since graduating from college.
