| About Me | Felix N Padrón is a visual artist and arts management professional with twenty-five year experience in the arts non-profit sector. Padrón is proficient in cultural policy, cultural planning, program development and management, grant writing and brand positioning. He dedicated 15 years serving as the Executive Director of the City of San Antonio Department for Culture and Creative Development where he collaborated with non-profit organizations, creative practitioners, elected officials, neighborhood groups and the business community to anchor the arts as an asset to economic development in San Antonio. He managed a multi-million annual portfolio that supported five creative areas including grant making, creative place making, film, cultural facilities, and strategic initiatives. Padrón success is noted by the many transformative strategies he worked on in partnership with multiple public and private agencies. Prior, Padrón led the development of San Antonio’s first public art program and served six years implementing city-wide place making projects. His responsibilities required a deep understanding of the need to foster a continued collaboration and coordination between artists, design professionals, arts organizations, and community representatives. His success and expertise in the public art arena earned him city-wide respect. He currently serves on the American Academy of Arts & Sciences’ Arts Commission, and the Board of SMU DataArts. He is a former Texans for the Arts Board President, Texas Arts Commissioner, as well as Americans for The Arts Board member. He also a holds the distinguished Taiwan Arts Ambassador Title awarded by the Taiwan Council for Cultural Affairs, in Taipei, Taiwan. Padrón is a native of Cuba and is an accomplished artist, curator and commentator in his own right.
