About Me	After graduation I traveled with Campus Life Youth Group to Wyoming for 3 weeks in the summer. Came back and started working in November at KMart. I was employed there for 8 years and worked my way up from cashier to Camera/Jewelry Dept. Manager. Met my husband Gary when I was 18 working at KMart (He was part-time and going to college). We were just good friends until we started dating when we were 25. We got married when we were 27 and moved to Minneapolis for better job opportunities. I found employment at Minnesota Rubber Company in St. Louis Park and was employed there for 15 years. I worked my way up in the company from the entry level mailroom to a Customer Service Rep. and then an Executive Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Research and Development Lab. I worked in the R & D Lab for 5 years before leaving and moving back to St. Cloud. During this time in 1995, I lost my Dad to lung cancer at the young age of 62 one week before I had my first son Nicholas. It was a very stressful time as my Dad was diagnosed in November and died in February. Having my first son Nick was a blessing as it helped my Mom through a difficult time after losing her husband of over 40 years. I had my second son William, named after my Dad, in 2000. Will was born 7 weeks early and gave us quite a scare. We were on vacation in Bemidji for a week staying in a cabin on a lake. At 5 a.m. my water broke and I had to be rushed to the Bemidji Hospital. I was not due for 8 more weeks. I was not having contractions but I could not go home due to the possibility of infection. So I had to go by ambulance to my hospital in St. Louis Park. It was a 4 hour ambulance ride and believe me it was NOT comfortable. We we got as far as Little Falls I started having contractions 5 minutes apart. They gave me a shot to slow down the contractions and we drove a little faster. I made it to the hospital and then nothing happened. Very frustrating! I had to stay in the hospital and just wait. Five days later I had my second son Will. He was a preemie and less then 5 pounds but he was able to breathe on his own. He did have heart apnia and did have a little jaundice which is common for preemies so he had to stay in the hospital for 10 days. It was heartbreaking going home without him. I spent everyday while Nick was in school at the hospital. Finally he came home and in 2 months was a very healthy growing boy. In 2002 we decide to move back to St. Cloud as our families were all here and we wanted our kids to know their grandparents. We moved back with my Mom until we found our house in Sartell. Our kids have grown way too fast. Nick is now in 7th Grade at the Middle School and WIll is in 2nd Grade at Pine Meadow Elementary. They both are very much into sports especially baseball so we enjoy watching them participate. My husband Gary works as the Lead Floral Designer at the Sauk Rapids Coborn's Superstore and I work here at the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce and have been here since we moved back. I do a variety of jobs here including our Chamber web site. It was fun to realize we live a few blocks from Mary Jo (Stang) and Larry Then and our son Nick is friends with their son John. I have seen a few old classmates and look forward to seeing more. Sartell is still the best school district in Minnesota. We are happy to be back!
