About Me	As a 2009 graduate from the College of Fine Arts and Humanities at St Cloud State University, I am actively pursing a double major in elementary education because I have a strong passion for children and a desire to educate young minds. It is my hope to model a Transformational Leadership style approach to teaching. I am a strong believer in giving back to my community and participate in many volunteer opportunities. I have been a "Big Sister" for the past 8 years with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and received the 2009 SCSU Excellence in Leadership Award for my service to this organization. I feel that one on one mentoring provides a key benefit of positive role modeling in the lives of our youth. I have also taught Sunday school for the past 8 years. In my first undergrad studies at St Cloud State, I served as the Activities Coordinator for the Communications Studies Club organization on campus and have had experience leading, facilitating, and coordinating volunteer activities for the organization, such as, The National Bone Marrow Drive on campus that is put on during each Spring Semester. Along with my volunteer activities, I work as a Regional Coordinator for the National American Miss nationwide pageant organization, this position has taught me to think and work under pressure because it incorporates all aspects of putting on a live show as well as public speaking.
