The date has been moved to August 16 to coincide with the Santana All Class Reunion, taking place the following day at Santee Lakes. The venue has changed to keep the cost down in hopes more will be able to attend.

Trying to keep the cost low, especially for those who are traveling into San Diego for the event. Ticket prices are going to depend on how many people and what activities are happening.

We cannot emphasize enough what a wonderful opportunity this is to catch up on the lives of people you went to school with 50 years ago. Where else will you see so many of your classmates in one place, all as anxious to learn about your life as you are theirs.

Many of you have moved to various parts of the country, and with gas prices what they are, and the economy what it is, I thought perhaps we could try to organize some carpools. I would be happy to help organize some carpool groups for those who are interested, however figuring out the finer details (e.g. who is driving, what car, what roads, etc) will have to be figured out on your own. So, if this sounds like something you would like to do, send me an email with the subject line "Carpool Exchange" which includes your contact information and your city/region, preferably with a zip code. I will match people up as best I can, and if everyone agrees to exchange contact info with the person/people who are matched in their area, then I will exchange that information for you so you can figure out the finer details yourselves. This might sound a little awkward, driving for several hours with someone you barely knew in high school, but we want to get as much turnout as possible, and we don't want you to have a "I can't afford the plane ticket" excuse if we can avoid it! It will be July 18th, 2009 at the Handlery Hotel and Resort (same as our 10 year.. and I had friends helping us). Prepaid cost is $93 per person (before the event - at the door cost will be higher), which I know sounds like a lot, but it will include: a 3 course meal (with a Vegetarian option), a DJ, photographer (if we get 150 people to rsvp), decorations, all the mailings and cost of documentation, the website for payment, the photo bio-book, the photo name badges, and also have hotel and travel discounts. Great Reunions puts up 100% of the financial support, so none of us have to. Ticket prices are good through June 18, 2009, and any tickets purchased after June 18 will be $10 higher. Payment information can be completed by phone, fax or through the website www.greatreunions.com - look up Santana class of 1989. There is a link to update address information there as well as to fill out the biography for the class book. Attire: Cocktail attire Rooms at the Handlery: Will be in a block for $140 and avail on a first come, first serve reservation basis. (Saves about $40-$80 per night).
