| About Me | Born in IL, move to CA when 4 (w/family LOL), remember when Knotts Berry Farm was free, Disneyland opened, camping in Yosemite when it was first come, first served. Lived in CA for 31, years which to me were the good years in CA. Seems like after we moved away laws and rules became restrictive and invasive not to mention ridiculously expensive. Although I do not like the weather in this area, it was an is affordable. We bought our then 5, year old, 3/2 house on 2-1/3 acres for $45,000. and it is now paid for and like everywhere else, gained in value. My three children were all born in CA. Two in Santa Maria and one in San Diego. None of them have moved back to CA though. My oldest son lives in Sierra Vista AZ and will retire from Military the end of this year. My youngest lives in Ankeny Iowa and is a General Manager and Trainer at a chain of theaters that have restaurant, bars, bowling ally, arcades in them. My daughter, the oldest, works at the local Y, sometimes cooking in the kitchen, sometimes working with very young children. I have four grandchildren ranging in age from 15B, 15B, 18G, & 20G. My husband of 43, years retired Dec 2020. I retired much earlier Sept 2007. My only wish is that we could move to a more temperate climate but the places I had chosen in New Mexico have been severely scared by fires that were supposed to be managed by...(read more) |
