| Events | Cheryl Ann (Bagby) Dixon, 67, of Tecumseh, Kansas died Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her home. She was born July 6, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Leon Robert and Phyllis Arlene (King) Bagby. She graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School with the class of 1975. On October 20, 1979, Cheryl was united in marriage to Larry Dixon at Stull United Methodist Church in Stull, Kansas. Cheryl began work as a clerk and typist at the Shawnee County Department of Motor Vehicles Office. She was then a lunch lady at Shawnee Heights for over 30 years, retiring in 2019. She loved her job there and was known to be the best lunch lady ever, especially because of how she took care of all the kids. Cheryl was loved by everyone who knew her. She went by many names, like Momma Cheryl, Grandma Cheryl, and Auntie Chery. She loved her grandkids more than anything and wouldn’t miss a single sporting event of theirs. She also loved her dogs. Cheryl enjoyed crochet, and would make all sorts of blankets, wash rags, hand towels, coasters and more. Her baby blankets were given to every baby in the family, plus anyone in the community that she knew was having a baby. She was a K-State fan and made multiple K-State blankets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Phyllis Bagby; a brother, Steven Wayne Bagby; two brothers-in-law, Randy Smoot and Bruce Faust; and a nephew, Jason Smoot. She is survived by her husband, Larry; a daughter, Rachal Wiezorek and her husband, Jake, of Carbondale, KS; a son, Lawrence “Bobby” Dixon and his wife, BreeAnna of Topeka, KS; two sisters, Pamala Faust of Overbrook, KS and Robin Smoot of Topeka, KS; three grandchildren, Cody Cooper, Wyatt Wiezorek, and Hazel Wiezorek; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Twin Mound Cemetery, Overbrook, KS.
