I met John in October 1958. John lived on Milpas Street opposite the Danish Baker, I lived around the corner on East Ortega Street. We both attended Santa Barbara Junior High and developed a friendship in ROTC. John went to City College. I went to UCSB. Years later we became Facebook friends, John in Ventura and I in Helsinki. John was a very considerate guy. The only high school friend I kept contact with. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace John.
