| About Me | I was a floor covering installer for five years before I started working on my bachelor's degree at Western Oregon Univ. While I was studying, I lived in Lafayette with my wife, Melissa, and drove school buses and charter buses to supplement my income. After I graduated with a B.S. in Biology I enrolled at Oregon State and became a research assistant for Dr. A. Morrie Craig in the Veterinary College while working on a Master’s in Microbiology. After graduating I took my first full-time, professional scientist position with a small biotech in Arizona called The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and worked for 15 months in the Pathogen Genomics Division in Flagstaff under the direction of Dr. Paul Keim. I left TGen to come back to Oregon, where I was able to secure position as a research associate in the newly formed Pathology Translational Research Lab.
