Billy Schrank, a music executive who worked on several soundtracks at such studios as Warner Bros, Paramount, Disney and Columbia Pictures, died of complications from a stroke on December 12 in Los Angeles. He was 60. During his 30 years in the music business, Schrank worked on several key soundtracks including "The Body Guard," "The Big Chill," "Ghostbusters," "Against All Odds," "The Karate Kid," and "Stand By Me." A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Schrank attended The University of New Mexico. Schrank leaves behind his partner of 35 years, music executive Paul Cooper. He had a multitude of friends who adored him.
