He team taught Humanities with Mrs. Tinnin. I think we were studying muckrakers and he played Tennessee Ernie Ford's cover of "16 tons" which perfectly described the pervasive influence of the company in the lives of their employees. Fairly bleak. He looked confused when everybody laughed. I am certain, if we had listened to the lyrics and thought about them, which was of course his intent, no one would have laughed. However, being 1970 (or was it during the fall semester of 1969?), Mr. Ford's music was not in vogue with our musical sensibilities at the time. He was a good man. He coached our sophomore football team with Mr. Ottman after Mr. Ruscetti was injured in his motorcycle accident. RIP Mr. Hoffman.
