About Me	Spent too many years receiving an AA and an AS degree from College of Marin. One of the degrees made me a certified pre-school teacher. The other one was pretty worthless unless I would have gone further in a specific direction. I also actually paid money to become a medical assistant. Finally I realized I was excellent at choosing non-lucrative "careers" and just went to work and did pretty well. When I retired in 2002 I looked back and saw that I had basically used the accounting and business skills I learned in high school. That was perfectly okay since details and being organized appeals to my perfectionistic tendencies. My last decade was spent working in the timber industry in Humboldt County where we actually had a lab which cloned superior chosen redwood trees. It took me until I was 40 to meet the one I would spend the rest of my life with. But once I found him I knew I was very blessed and have remained so for almost 30 years. In 2010 my husband who was a Registered Professional Forester retired from working for CalFire managing state forests. We then moved to Florida to take of my husband's elderly parents and one aunt. All reached the age of 90 with his mother almost reaching 95. They're all gone now and my husband and I know too much about what getting REALLY old looks like. We treasure what we have left yet to experience together in life. I'd say that all in all I've lived a pretty average life with it's many expected highs and lows. I've learned my share of life's difficult lessons with more to come, I'm sure. Considering the sadness I feel when reading our class "In Memoriam" page, one having been a wonderful friend to me, I am simply beyond blessed to still be here walking the earth able to be writing this for my fellow classmates of 1969....(read more)
