Actress

What is Lala Sloatman known for?

Lala Sloatman is an American actress and former model best known for her roles in 1980s and 1990s movies. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, she is a proud alumna of San Marcos High School.

Lala's acting career took off during the 1980s when she appeared in films like "Watchers" (1988) and "Dream a Little Dream" (1989), acting alongside her then-boyfriend Corey Haim. Although Haim suggested her for the lead in a third movie, "Prayer of the Rollerboys" (1991), the part ultimately went to Patricia Arquette.

Despite this, Lala's career continued to flourish. She went on to star in other films like "Pump Up the Volume" (1990), "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" (1993), and Sofia Coppola's "Somewhere" (2010). Always versatile, she has also played a variety of roles, from a college roommate to a sexy serial killer.

Lala's personal life has been equally as colorful. In the late 1980s, she dated Corey Haim and later, in the early 1990s, she was in a relationship with C. Thomas Howell. She was married to Chris Robinson, the lead singer of The Black Crowes, from 1996 to 1998 and together, they have a daughter named Lula.

Music also holds a special place in Lala's life. Her uncle was the renowned musician Frank Zappa, and her cousins include Ahmet, Diva, Moon, and Dweezil Zappa. Fun fact: she is often billed by her first name only, and sometimes as Lala Zappa.
