About	Rich graduated from San Lorenzo H.S. in 1965 and attended UC Santa Barbara through 1969. He was drafted by the St Louis Cardinals in 1969, but due to serious medical issues never played an NFL season game. He spent his last years in San Francisco and died of heart failure while under excellent care at the UCSF Medical Center.
