Anoushka Shankar is a twice-Grammy-nominated sitarist, who has been touring the world since she was 13 years old, first with her father Ravi Shankar and then as a successful solosit. Today she is considered one of the foremost composers in World Music. She is frequently chosen by publications like Time ASIA as a hero, or as one of the most successful and beautiful women in her native country of India. Anoushka is also the only ambassador in India for the United Nations World Food Programme, was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the Film Dance Like a Man, and is a published author with a book and many articles to her credit.
