About	Donald Clarence Waetzig was born on Saturday, June 15, 1940 in Hamilton, Montana, son of Donald Bill ‘Billie’ Waetzig and Siri Swanson Waetzig. The family moved to Salmon and operated a ranch at 17-mile Creek south of Salmon. Don attended school in Salmon Idaho, graduating with the ‘Class of 58'. Don’s father died on Wednesday, October 31, 1945 at there ranch from heart problems. Don’s mother, Siri married Harvey Adelbert Fortney on Sunday, October 14, 1951 in Salmon, and became Don’s stepfather. Married Darla Mae Wraspir on Saturday, December 19, 1959 in Salmon and a son was born, Kelly Don Waetzig on October 1960. They were divorced on Thursday, October 17, 1963 Don worked with Don Smith, as an outfitter in both float and jet boats, running the Main and Middlefork Rivers for many years. Don worked in construction for Don Shafer Inc. on commercial projects. Don loved to fish and look for Indian arrowheads. In 1995, Don married Cherie L. Waetzig and they lived near Ellis, Idaho. Don was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bill Waetzig; mother, Siri Josephine Swanson. step-father, Harvey Adelbert Fortney. Don is survived by his wife, Cherie L. Waetzig and son, Kelly Don Waetzig. Don was buried on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the May Cemetery. May Idaho
