About Me	In 1997, after ~30 years of teaching sciences, and after working in agronomic scientific research, I had the good fortune to literally "sail into retirement" as a teacher of Marine Biology and Chemistry aboard a "tall ship", the 188 feet long barkentine, the S/V Concordia. We sailed from Jamaica, through the Panama Canal to the Galapagos, Marquesas, Tahiti, Pitcairn Island, Easter Island, back through the Panama Canal, with stops at Costa Rica, Cozumel, Bermuda, terminating at Lunenburg, Nova Scotia Canada. That was in 1998, and could retire with a full pension. FOOTNOTE: In the Spring of 2010, that ship which had carried thousands of students over many, many years... sank off the coast of Brazil in the Atlantic Ocean. Fortunately, no lives were lost; all crew members were rescued by the Brazilian Navy. By the time of this loss of a lovely tall ship, I had already enjoyed retirement with my wife for ~12 years.
