Date of Passing | Dec 02, 2020 |
About | Passed away suddenly in his sleep. Surviving are his wife Teresa, daughter Katie Rosen and sister Karen Johnson (Class of 1974). Hard to believe he's gone. I was looking forward to another trip to Montana. |

We were in Cubs scouts together.
Served at the same NG Unit in Teaneck NJ.
Not at the same time?
I was there 1976 to 1978. After active duty.
----
Must of been just before he passed away?
I sent him a video of the 50th WWII reenactment that we both attended in Pennsylvania back in the early 90's.
Crossed paths- but never knew we were both there.
----
Life is unfair.
You work - save - try to be a good person - not stepping in any social of financial poop.
Then wham !
----
I hope when I go to heaven one day.
I see and remember everyone as the last time we met on this planet.
----
I would hate to ask,
My name is Stan,
"Who are you?"
----
See you on the other side one day.
John Purpuro

OMG!
1/21/2024 -Just seen this post!
---
After seeing his photo and remembering him several years ago.
I contacted him.
October 2019?
----
By accident we were both at the WWII 50th anniversary reenactment.
I recognized that some of his posted photos are from that reenactment.
We passed each other and never knew we crossed paths because he was wearing a helmet.
-----
We were in the same cub scouts pack together in Saddle Brook.
Is why I wanted to say Hello and still here.
----
I sent him a videos link of that reenactment for a gift.
I was one of the few who had a Video recorder of the event.
-----
Life is not fair.
All in the same boat- Just a different amount of time.
:(
-----
Rest well ol friend.
See you on the other side one day.

John loved reenactments.
Here is a WWII reenactment he participated in 1997.

I sent this video to John in 2019 and he said he was the last soldier on the right facing the camera on the street around 44 seconds into the video.
