I played and ran track at Sacramento Sr. high School. I was named the most value C track player in 1960. I was Captian of football team at Sacramento Sr. High School in 1962. I played football at Sacrament City College. I was named the Academically Outstanding Letterman and the Norther California defense back in 1963. I then went the UC Berkeley where I graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1966. I went to work as a Chemical Engineer for the Engineering Service Division. I married Judi Sykes in 1968. I returned to school at MIT inChemical Engineering. I was awarded an S.M. (Science Master) in 1973 and a Sc. D. (Doctor of Science) in 1976. I was appointed a Lecturer at MIT in 1976. I went to work as a Member of the Technique Staff for Sandia National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. I then went to work as Director of Fossil Fuels at Energy and Environmental Research Company. I changed jobs to become Director of Research and Development at Energy System Associates were I was awared the EPA Science and Technical Achievment Award in 1976 for my work on fkare Fames. I then went to wirk as Senior Sciebtist at W.J. Schafer and Associates. I left to start my own consulting business where I was Principal of Energy International (EI). While at EI, I was twice recognized for best energy project by the Reepublic of China for defining Coal Combustion Properties and Developing a Low NOx Gas burner. I took my next job overseas as Professor of Chemical Engineer at U. Queensland (Australia) and Coordinator for the State of Queensland for the Black Coal Utilisation Research Association. I then took at job as Research Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Mining and Minerals Engineering at Virigina Tech. I moved by to California when I took the job of Director of Residual Fuels and Coal at ORYXE Energy International. I am now retired and consult out of Energy International on Combustion and Pollution Control.
