| About Me | US Navy Veteran Where to begin: Well that is a very good question, so here it goes. I arrived in this world in 1962 fully assemble but with no instruction booklet. I lived in a small tiny village called Kalamazoo, (yes a real place) where I stayed for about 8 yrs. After which I was transplanted to the very very small town of Coolidge in the middle of some hot sand box we shall call Arizona. After a brief stint of living in Coolidge, we packed up our mules and covered wagons and moved to the big village of Tucson. Nice place, friendly folks, great Mexican food. Any ways, after several years in northern Mexico (Tucson) we returned to the great state of where I was born, Michigan, where we finally settled in this melon patch I shall call Howell. Nice town, great people, all around fun place, except they have a problem with cows getting out on the roads but that is another story. I did go to high school there in Howell and received an outstanding education (learned to smoke cigarettes, drink beer and PARTY!) everything a young man needs to know to be successful. About a year after I graduated from school, I was actually bored watching the melons grow in the field, so I join the United States Navy, where I became an Aviation Ordnanceman. I built and loaded bombs, missiles, and other goodies on the Navy’s finest all weather bombers, A-6E Intruders (Google to learn more about them), where I served on 5 aircraft carriers: USS Constellation CV-64, USS Ranger CV-61, USS Nimitz CV-68 (2 times), USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 and the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72. Oh yea, during stints between carriers I was stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. And I did manage to squeeze in a little skirmish call Desert Storm during that time too. I did a grand total of 17+ years serving this fine country. I still work for the US Navy as a civilian now, where I am the supervisor of the Heavyweight Propulsion Branch for MK 48 heavyweight torpedoes (again Google) Isn't Google a wonderful tool?. I hope this gives anyone who gives a crap a little insight into my world, if you would like more informat...(read more) |
