About David Lot Green, M.D., 75, died on Dec.14, 2015 in his home town of Port Townsend, Washington.

Dr.Green was born in Rushville, In. on June 20, 1940, to Frank H. Green, M.D., and Jean C. Green. He was the oldest of three children.

David graduated from Rushville High School in 1958. During his Rushville school years he played football for the Rushville Lions and was on the high school golf team. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, where he majored in pre-med from 1958-1961. During that time he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He attended Indiana University Medical School from 1961 to 1965. Upon graduation he went to San Francisco and served an internship at San Francisco General Hospital from 1965 to 1969.

Dr. Green continued his medical education and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of California, San Francisco in 1969.

David continued his medical career by accepting a Fellowship in hand surgery with Mr. Douglas Lamb in Edinburg, Scotland in 1969. Upon completion, he received a Fellowship for total joint replacement with Dr. Rod Turner, M.D.at Harvard Medical Center in 1970.

Dr.Green started his orthopedic practice in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on the staff of Wake Forest Medical Center. Several years later he moved to Cleveland, Ohio and joined the orthopedic department at Case Western Reserve Medical Center. He later entered the private practice of medicine and joined the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Oakland, California. He eventually retired from medicine and moved to Port Townsend, Washington.

Dr.Green always had a love for New Zealand. He eventually acquired a home in Wellington, New Zealand, while he worked part time with the health ministry on worker compensation issues. Each year Dr. Green would spend six months in Port Townsend and six months in Wellington. Dr. Green was a world traveler. He enjoyed sailing, tennis, fishing and golf.

Dr.Green is survived by his brother, John C. Green (Tracey) of Trafalgar, Indiana, and William L. Green, M.D. (Holly) of Kentfield, California. He is survived by three nephews: Max J. Green (Jennifer), David W. Green (Desiree) and William Scott Green, M.D. (Emily).

He is also survived by three nieces: Betsy Green, Aimee Green Logan and Michelle Green O'Connell (Robin). Proud of his family, he treasured the next generation of six great-nieces and five great-nephews.

Funeral arrangements are pending in Port Townsend Washington.
