About Daniel A. Scholl, 63, of Rushville, went home to God on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.

Born Dec. 23, 1950 in Fayette County, he is the son of the late Albert and Mary Klemme Scholl. He grew up in Connersville, but lived his adult life in Arlington and Rushville.

Dan attended Alquina School until his junior year and went on to graduate from Connersville High School in 1968. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Wittenberg University in 1972 and his Masters Degree and Principal Certification from Ball State University. Dan's faith called him to serve in many capacities as a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and St. James Church over the years. He shared his musical love in many ways including serving as church organist, singing in the Rush County Chorale and playing cello and piano whenever possible.

He was active in the Rush County Players. Starting in 1972 to 1999, he was a part of the Arlington School as a teacher and principal. In 1999, he was the principal at Milroy School and most recently he taught math at Rushville Consolidated High School where he was still teaching on a half time basis. Dan was active with many extracurricular activities and sports throughout his teaching career. He was the score keeper for wrestling and track and sponsor of the chess club and academic teams. He was a beloved teacher and principal who influenced the lives of many students throughout the years. His kindness and generosity lives on through his family.

He is the beloved husband of Sharon E. (Moffett) Scholl, whom he married on Feb. 17, 1972 at the Harrisburg Union Church. He is also survived by a daughter, Carrie L. Scholl of Rushville; a son, Aaron D. Scholl and wife Erica of Arlington; grandson, Lucas A. Scholl; two brothers, Wayne E. Scholl and wife Penny of Connersville and John E. Scholl and wife Rosanna of Muncie; a sister, Marilyn K. Scholl and partner Sabine Rhyne of Putney, Vermont; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and a large extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 631 N. Harrison Street, Rushville, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 with Minister Hope Moran officiating.

Friends and family may visit at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Urban Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Rush County Players or to the Rush County Chorale.
