About	Glenn Edwin Darnell (March 8, 1924 – March 1, 2007) dedicated himself to the service of mankind. The life of Glenn Darnell was a life well lived. Glenn died March 1, 2007 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was a kind and caring individual who always greeted you with a big hello and a firm handshake. Born in Rushville, March 8, 1924 he grew to become an outstanding member of his community. He was an Eagle Scout and president of his graduating class at Rushville High School. In 1943 Glenn joined the Armed Forces to proudly serve and defend his country. A survey and instrument man with the 44th Infantry Division he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945. Glenn graduated from Indiana University in 1949 where he earned a business degree in personnel management. While there he was a member of the marching band, playing clarinet. He continued his love of music and devotion to Indiana by joining the Marching 100 Alumni band. He marched at over fifty homecoming games as an alum. After college he worked at L. S. Ayers where Glenn met his wife, Bobbe Jo Isaacs. Soon after, he went to work for Allstate Insurance. He became the "Goodhands Man" by taking care of his customers for forty-two years. Glenn Darnell loved fishing and the great outdoors, especially his cabin in southern Indiana, where he enjoyed countless visits with family and friends. After retirement he stayed busy traveling, fishing and serving others through Broadripple Sertoma. His Boy Scout slogan "do a good turn daily" became his ‘service to mankind'. He was preceded in death by his wife Bobbe and is survived by his children, Brad (Shannon), Jeff (Joann Tomas) and Sarah Kapcar (Jim); his brothers and sisters, Charles Darnell, Beverly Washburn, Mary Lee Green and William Darnell; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Burial: Saint Lukes United Methodist Church Columbarium, Indianapolis, Indiana
