About Me | Hi I am known in the pageant world as "The Queen Maker" because of my success with pageants delegates. I am an award winning Master Stylist in the arts of Make Up and Hair. I work with photographers, designers, ad agencies, celebrities, professionals, and pageant competitors. Work makes life sweet! I am honest, professional, hard working and a fun loving person who has the need for learning and constant adventure! I travel a lot with work. I have worked in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto, Canada, Las Vegas, Rochester, NY and countless other locations! I travel more now than ever as I have seen the business that I love so much dry up to next to nothing in Rochester, NY where I used to work for years. As a film stylist, my specialty is make up and hair but I also do wardrobe consulting, and coaching clients to look at the over all image they want to project. I have been privileged to work with some of the best in the business and have always appreciated my position in life. I can't believe I started over 30 years ago. I have seen styles and trends come and go and then come back again.... giggle. My industry is always evolving and I have to also. I regularly attend trend classes and style classes for hair sponsored by various hair companies. I really could care less that I am the oldest at these classes either! It's fun to see reactions on my younger class mates faces when we start the "Trend Practice"... they are amazed that a older stylist can still kick it, is still skilled, is still relevant, current and precise!! They smile and start asking me about myself.... before that I am INVISIBLE. That's okay. I'm really comfortable in my own skin and especially in my abilities! WEIRD FUN FACT: What seems like a 100 years ago I entered a pageant for married women. I didn't win that year but, did the next. It was a blast. The whole science of pageant competition got in my blood and my fueled competitive juices. I figured out a formula to win and put it to work. All I needed was a couple of years. Below are some examples of what my formula did for me. I now use it to help others succeed in this business. It's always energizing and fun to see other fulfill their dreams of winning too! FORMER BEAUTY QUEEN: STATE ~ NATIONAL ~ INTERNATIONAL TITLES: Mrs. New York America 91' Mrs. New York USA (now International) 92' Ms. New York (US of A) 96' - 2nd runner up Nationals Ms. New York (Continental) 98/99'- National Winner Ms. World Continental - International Winner 2000. Mrs. New York All American 02' - National Winner Ms. New York Woman 03' - 2nd runner up AUS Nationals During the years of 1992 thru 1999 I was the executive director of The Mrs. New York State Pageant for US and then America. I prided myself in bringing hundreds of people to the State pageant every year and generating Tourism for the city of Niagara Falls, The Honeymoon Capital of the World! The pageant was a fixture in the city for all those years! During that time the Mrs. New York State Pageant & I worked closely with the Western New York Make-A-Wish Foundation and helped raise awareness and many thousands of dollars for the chapter. I've had several National winners and finalists for different competitions across America including Miss America, Miss USA/Universe, Mrs. America, Mrs. United States, Ms. American Renaissance, Miss & Mrs. Galaxy, Mrs. International And Beauties of America. Now I coach and style. I have figured out a formula and it works! Women find my knowledge is extremely helpful to help elevate their presence and placement in a national pageant. I have several national winners across the board in every major pageant system. That's pretty special. They listen and do the homework that I give them and together we make it happen. AWARDS AND ACCOLADES: Niagara County Home Town Hero 1997 New York State Senate "Woman of Distinction" 1999 Make-A-Wish Foundation volunteer and fund...(read more) |
