Hi everyone,
I just found out I am not going to be able to come to the reunion on Oct. 11th. My wife’s Father is not doing well after a heart failure and a pacemaker implant. So I will be going with my wife tomorrow (Wed. The 8th) to be with the family. If you are someone who prays, please pray for him and her Mother who is taking care of him
Sincerely
Jerry Fletcher

Hi everyone. I loved remembering lately the things I most enjoyed bout high school. The simulated cars, cutting school and being able to drive with my lunch money to LA and see many places, especially Santa Monica’s Pacific Ocean Park, remember that ride that went over the end of the pier oh was that fun! I did not like taking showers in PE or having to read out loud, I am so dyslexic. It’s great to finally be at an age where you can embrace all your flaws, because I have many, but it is what makes me who I am. And I am my own best friend now.
I love to paint and garden. Old gardeners die hard it is true! Right now I am modifying my front and back yard to be able to handle the task. I love to make the earth smile. But I am mobility impaired. My father would be proud. I am a gardeners daughter. I love living near the ocean and I have a mighty respect for it, I wish visitors did, too.
I love seeing the sun dip into the ocean at sundown. It’s a lovely array of color and always different.
I may come to the reunion at the last minute. I realize this may be the last one. I am worried I may not know anybody. I hope to see Janine Larson but I have never seen her on any alumni site. I miss her and many others. I am from both classes. 1970 and 1971 because I got mono and had to graduate a semester later because I missed the whole year we all got bussed over to Simi High school. I was in the choir at Simi High when I got mono. I really like that choir.
I sing in the choir at my synagogue during the year and Sept and Oct are our High Holy Days but are ending Oct 2 at sundown so if I am not too tired I may show up eight days later Oct 10. Ventura is not far from Simi Valley. Good old Simi Valley. We all grew up there in that charming old town. So many awesome memories.
We all are in shock to see so many classmates passed and we are still here. Seeing my childhood best friend obituary has hit me hard. Life is precious, even with all the challenges and the ups and downs. Well if I do not make it I hope you all enjoy yourselves and give hope and courage to one another because as a dear friend once told me, getting older is not for sissys.
Take good care, be brave and do not forget to smile .
