Homecoming Royalty Oct-1961

An election was held thursday afternoon Oct 12 th to choose the homecoming King & Queen, Barry lund,sponsored by the future home--
makers of America,& Ceres Vandiver
Sponsored by the Publication class,
were elected.
The Senior cantidate,Cathy Gillespie,
and the other nomimee of the publications class,Jerry Hamm,were
named attendents to the King & Queen.
King Barry & Queen Ceres were honored during the half time ceremonies of the Round Valley
Chinle game and reigned through-out the day. At the Homecoming
dance that evening,last year's King
and Queen,George Greagory and
Bonnie Whiting Rogers, Placed the
royal crowns on their Heads.

GIRL OF THE MONTH
Mary Maxwell was recently chosen
girl of the month by the Springerville
Buisiness and professional women's
club. Mary was chosen as the outstanding girl citizen in the senior
class. She will be honored at the february 21st meeting of the club at the Safire , and will recieve a girl of the month pin from the club. Every month a girl from a different class will be chosen by the club as the outstanding girl citizen of that class in keeping with the club's project of Americanism.!

Round Valley V.S. St. Johns ,

Oct .8, 1926
Invading St. Johns on October 8,1926 Round Valley Tigers played
St. Johns and were victorious by
6 points, The score being 6 to 0
Fred Martin was disabled for the remainder of the season.

Oct 4, R.V. played St. Johns football Today over at Taylor. Score was nothing to nothing in favor of our side. The boys were going in the bus, But ---well they didn't.

Year book 1927

In 1925 School was held for the first
in the new building. They were the
Roundvalley Tigers, The first year book was published in 1927 and it was called the( Apache) And
J.A. Hayatt's
Harness Shop .was one of the Sponsers.

Interesting note-

Funniest football game ever played-Readers Digest ,Oct 1955 .
Cumberland vs Georga Tech.----Score ,Georga Tech222,---
Cumberland 0. For Cumberland the bigest play of the game came on an end around and they only lost 6 yards.
This game was played Oct.7,1916. Look it up.
