| About Me | Dennis is a minister, teacher, and licensed professional counselor in Birmingham, Alabama. He has served on the staff of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church as Minister of Education and Administration since 1985. He lectures, writes, and conducts conferences for churches, businesses, and religious and civic organizations on topics such as communications, group dynamics and leadership, marriage and family issues, and managing stress in the work and the home environment. He and his wife, Karen, fill their free time with civic involvement in Vestavia Hills, traveling, movies, bird-watching, and being owned by their cat, Snickers. Dennis served as the founding coordinator of Leadership Vestavia Hills from 1996-2001. He served on the Board of Directors of Leadership Vestavia Hills from 1997-2002. His contributions to the improvement of the quality of life of the city through this organization and other civic service earned him the recognition as the 1997 Citizen of the Year in Vestavia Hills. His current civic projects include serving as a trustee of the Vestavia Hills Public Library. He is also involved in assisting Manos Amigas, a Mexican-American non-profit religious organization, in building the Centro de Esperanza, the Center of Hope, in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.
