Favorite School Memory	Well, it is kind of a toss-up. There was the 1980 State Basketball Championship. That was pretty cool. Then there was that time where the guys bet me that I couldn't eat 100 White Castles in an hour. That was a gas! But I would probably have to go with that time in 10th grade English class when Mrs. Herman explained what a gerund was. (Did I spell that right? G-E-R-U-N-D Yeah, I think I did.) Man, for the longest time, I was constantly getting gerunds confused with present participles. I know, how stupid is that? But how can a gerund act as a subject and a subject compliment? You know, that is just crazy. So, anyway, one day out of the blue, Mrs. Herman says she wants to talk about gerunds. (Well, it wasn't so much out of the blue, it was after all an English course, but I sure as heck didn't see it coming.) That day, the whole world of English opened up to me.
