Sorry, I didn't know I'd already commented. Last sentence, (dear) parents.

She was a sweet gal, a neighbor in the '50s and '60s on 56th Street, north of us; we lived at 3119. Shirley Ann and I played badminton in our yard; one time she had a light seizure about which (until knowledge of the malady years later) I didn't understand the situation. Her life ended with a drowning in a swimming pool. Her father was an avid tennis player who took me to the McCollum tennis courts on Polk Blvd. across the street from Roosevelt High. He taught me, very proactively, how to serve the ball and to be ready for the return ball. Her mother drove her, and my little sis and I to high school at Roosevelt.

Shirley Ann was our north next door neighbor on 56th Street, me a Harmon at 3119-56th. She and I played badminton one time when she had a very light seizure, of which I was unaware what was happening till a while later. I was aware that she passed upon drowning in a swimming pool which saddened me; she was very sweet gal. Her mother was bookkeeper for a store at McNeal shopping Center @Merle Hay Road and Urbandale Ave. Her father was older and retired when I became acquainted. Her father took me to the McCollum tennis courts on Polk Blvd., across Polk Blvd. from TRHS, to teach me tennis stroking and serving. Shirley Ann's mother took her and me to TRHS on the cold mornings 3 mi. to TRHS. Yes, a very sweet gal, wish I could've known her after I grew up and got to know her more when we became adults. Yes, a VERY nice family. God bless and rest her soul and those of her deal parents.
