Served in the United States Army from November 1982 to Mar 2003. Was with the distinguished United States Cavalry. Stationed in Schweinfurt Germany (3 yrs), South Korea (2 yrs), Fort Knox, Kentucky (5 yrs), Fort Riley, Kansas (8 yrs), Brooklyn Center, Minnesota (2 yrs).

After completing Engineer Training Ian meet the selection standards for Airborne Selection Training camp, and received his "jump wings" upon successful completion (2% of all army enlistments achieve).
Within days of receiving his wings Ian was informed he had been selected as a candidate for the US Army Rangers, Special Forces (less than 2% of Airborne receive).
Ian than successfully moved through the pre-RASP and RASP candidate training program; the most grueling and intensive selection training program in the world. Within days of receiving his completion and Ranger badge, Ian took a step back from Rangers to pursue avenues of development offered in Leadership and Officer Candidacy and mastering all things Airborne Combat Engineer before accepting final completion into the elite US Army Rangers.
Ian is currently on active duty in the US 82nd Airborne and preparing for his first overseas deployment. Additionally Ian is currently completing the candidate process for various Officer and Leadership Training paths, including entrance to West Point Military Academy.
