| About Me | I met my husband Mike on a blind date in September of 1980 and we were married in Columbia on February 19th 1983. Graduated Cum Laude from Southwest Missouri State (Missouri State) in December of 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work. Moved to St Louis and quickly discovered I could not save the world earning $18,000 a year. Found my niche working for an up-scale West County home builder until the housing market decline in 2008. I am currently employed part- time by choice at Mass Mutual where I work with one of the most successful financial advisors in the company. We were blessed with two daughters, Tracey Deloris (1986) and Ellen Marie (1991), a grandson Ethan David (2015) and granddaughter Audrey Rose (2018) who know us as “nonna” and “cowboy mike”. My dad Bob suffered from dementia and passed away in August of 2008. My mom Dee, continues to live independently in Columbia. Like most of you we never located the” money tree” that our girls assumed was in the back yard, however we paid for college, apartments and vehicles and still managed to have the resources to purchase a farm 25 miles north of Columbia near Higbee.
