Billy was my dear friend. After high school we reconnected in 1998 and kept in close contact. He had just been diagnosed with his cancer.
He invited me out to see his stomping grounds, which was Durango, Colorado. He showed me all around and we had some deep conversations about life. Billy was not afraid of dying and had such a peaceful attitude. I always think of him whenever life gets tough.
I got to say goodbye to him on the day he passed. Indeed, he is missed.
