James Rogers

Class of 1977

James Rogers, class of 1977, better known as Red, and his band, Red Rogers & the Durty Dawgs, won Rock Band of the Year for the Music Association of Central Texas, for the second year in a row. Red on lead guitar, Bob Austin on bass, and Richard Shelton on drums, play a variety of music that includes cover songs of ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyd, Led Zepelin, Govt Mule, and Cream among others. The band also plays originals written by Red Rogers. They can be checked out at Come join the Dawg Pound, and check out a show!
Red has been battling rectal cancer since August, 2007, but the band plans to start back up on June 21, with a back to summer bash at the Shadetree in Lorena. This will be a fundraiser for Red and his wife, Diane Brown, class of 1979. Come out and show your support to Red and listen to some great music!
