Raymond E. Beaver, 47, died suddenly April 7, 2010, at his home in Homer.

Raymond was born Oct. 29, 1962, in Boston but had been a resident of Alaska for more than 35 years. His family moved to Fairbanks from Miami, Fla., in the early 1970s. He was a Service High School graduate.

He primarily worked in air cargo for more than 20 years, working for Bush Consolidators, Everts Air Cargo and Movers Inc. before moving to Homer with his family in August of 2009.

Even though he held an assistant guide license for hunting and loved to hunt and fish, he was a lover of all animals. He loved to travel all over Alaska and had experiences of a lifetime. Alaska was his home and he loved every aspect of the outdoors that included skiing, snowmachining, snowshoeing, hunting and fishing.

Raymond met his true love, Buffy, in July 1996 and they were married in August 1999. Raymond was an extremely happy man and every person he encountered was touched by his spirit and beautiful smile. (He is) missed.
