Lifelong Alaskan Gary I Landes, 43, died Nov. 23, 2006, in Anchorage. Visitation was held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. A celebration of life was at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Mr. Landes was born June 18, 1963, in Anchorage. He was a graduate of Service High School and Anchorage Community College. In 1991, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He was vice president and the design and development engineer for Airglas Inc. in Anchorage. He was an FAA-designated manufacturing and inspection representative, designated airworthiness representative and a certified pilot single-engine, land and sea.

Gary introduced me and took me as his guest to many dances at several high schools across Anchorage. I appreciated his zest for excitement and we had a lot of fun.
