I remember Buddy well from Springboard Swim Club, probably 1965-66, where he was a lifeguard. I recall he would swim several lengths of the pool underwater on a single breath. It was impressive. He was always a friendly and charming guy, too. And his mother was a Fairfax County substitute teacher. I think it was Fall of 1966 when she led a class I was in at Washington Irving Intermediate School for multiple weeks until our permanent teacher was assigned. It seemed to me that all the kids liked her very much.
