About Me | I currently attend Columbia College Chicago majoring in Television: Production & Directing. My goal is to be a TV engineer on live productions. I am also a DJ and have been mixing since 2007. Longer story : I have been involved in the Televison Arts for the past four years. Starting my career and intrest in the arts was working for RBTV at Riverside Brookfield High School. I have worked on almost every production and remote shoots that we have produced within my tenure as a student. Which is A LOT. We are only required to do two outside shoots per quarter, but I did them all, not because I have nothing better to do, but because I love what I do. I love setting everything up, wiring and patching the studio and cameras, working on productions and training students on the equipment. I love knowing how everything works and being the one that if there is a problem, I can come up with a quick and efficient solution to that problem. In my broadcast journalism class, I was the news director and directed all of our news broadcasts. Since walking into RBTV as a student, I have founded plenty of solutions that I can say were my idea and things that were done wrong or more complicated, that are now done right or in a more efficient way. I have built leadership, respect for others, and great citizenship that I put into my work ethics. I have won a plethora of award in the arts of meida at the Chicagoland Television Educators Council (aka CTEC), an honorable mention through the National Televison of Arts and Science (aka NATAS) and a national Hometown USA Media award. I have also received a Gene Cartwright Scholarship through NATAS, a Nadine Sterk Scholarship through CTEC & Columbia, a Dawn Heller Scholarship, and an Edwin R. Fredrickson scholarship. I am also currently a production assistant at Riverside TV network 6, where there we work on basic live productions for the village meetings and outside community events. Besides my intrest in television, I am also a DJ that I have been doing it since 2007. I'm not the typical party DJ, AKA human iPod... I'm a club DJ/turntablist. All songs are beat blended and mixed to keep the party going and pumped. I consider myself a performer. A DJ to most people just play's music. My job is to keep the party going and make sure that the audience loves the music and also loves me as the performer. I use techniques from scratching, to a cappella over a beat, loops in the songs, and drops. After my studies at Columbia, I would like to pursue a career as a broadcast engineer at a televison station, either news or at some sort of studio, or for live sporting events. I find myself fit for this job because I am calm when placed under pressure and I love the anticipation of live broadcast, where you can't mess up and what you ...(read more) |
