East Area Rapist
From 1976 to 1979 Sacramento and the Bay Area was terrorized by a masked man dubbed the "East Area Rapist." There were several attacks right off American River Drive. One theory is that the suspect lived in the neighborhood. Years later through DNA and modus opernadi the same man was linked to 10 homicides in Southern California. When the crimes began in 1976 the suspect was believed to be a white male, with blue or hazel eyes, medium to slightly below medium height. It is believed he would have graduated high school from 1969-1975. Does anyone remember a former classmate that had an unusual fascination with law enforcement, weapons and had some anti-social tendencies? A classmate that moved to Goleta or Irvine in the 1980's.
